Soccer Game Preview: Melbourne Central Catholic vs. St. Edward's

Melbourne Central Catholic hasn't had much luck against St. Edward recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hustlers will host the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. St. Edward's took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Melbourne Central Catholic, who comes in off a win.

Melbourne Central Catholic headed into their last match having not scored more than one goal for three straight, but Calvary Chapel Academy let them put that streak behind them. The Hustlers were the clear victors by a 6-3 margin over the Eagles on Monday. Melbourne Central Catholic haven't had any issues with Calvary Chapel Academy recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Melbourne Central Catholic's offense was hitting Calvary Chapel Academy from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Tim Tecson led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, St. Edward's didn't have quite enough to beat Somerset College Prep Academy on Tuesday and fell 4-3.

St. Edward's now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Melbourne Central Catholic, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Melbourne Central Catholic couldn't quite get it done against St. Edward's in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as they fell 2-0. Can the Hustlers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
