Basketball Recap: Six Straight Road Wins for Carolina International

Carolina International extended their road winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from KJ Shouse Jr.. The Carolina International Comets snuck past the Bethel Academy Blazers with a 66-61 win on Sunday thanks in part to Shouse Jr., who went 12 for 14 on his way to 28 points and six rebounds. The matchup was his fifth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Salter, who posted six points in addition to nine assists and seven boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists.

Carolina International's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Bethel Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carolina International will venture away from home to challenge Sugar Creek Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carolina International is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.9 points per game this season. As for Bethel Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Evergreen Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bethel Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Evergreen Christian likes a good challenge.
