Baseball Recap: Edon Has No Trouble Against North Central

Edon barely beat North Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bombers blew past the Eagles 13-3 on Tuesday. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Bombers this season.

Christian Owens made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Edon is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 1-4 otherwise. Owens was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Kyler Sapp was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carter Steinke, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Edon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory got Edon back to even at 4-4. As for North Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edon will face off against Pettisville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Central, they will take on Gorham Fayette at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Central is facing Gorham Fayette at the right time seeing as Gorham Fayette is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
