Softball Game Preview: Crestview Knights vs. Fairview Apaches

The Crestview Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Fairview Apaches at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Crestview is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Crestview's offense. They lost 10-0 to Lincolnview on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Fairview earned a 6-1 win over Edgerton on Thursday.

Edreanne Peck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

On the hitting side, Kayla Mavis was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Kortney Grinnell, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Fairview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Crestview's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Fairview, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Crestview couldn't quite get it done against Fairview in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-2. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
