Basketball Game Preview: Silverton Owls vs. Kress Kangaroos

The Silverton Owls will head out to face off against the Kress Kangaroos at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Silverton is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Happy on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Silverton was dealt a 59-22 defeat at the hands of Happy. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1001st, while the Cowboys are ranked 451st).

Kress has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 40-30 to Happy on Tuesday.

Silverton's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Kress, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-8.

Silverton came up short against Kress in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 44-32. Can Silverton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
