Preview: Cherokee Bluff Bears vs. Lakeview Academy Lions
The Cherokee Bluff Bears will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Lakeview Academy Lions at 1:30 p.m. on December 27th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Cherokee Bluff didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Pickens, but they still walked away with a 48-43 victory. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Cherokee Bluff has scored all season.
Lakeview Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 21 points or more this season. They took their game at home on Thursday with ease, bagging a 74-39 victory over Southwest Atlanta Christian. Given Lakeview Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Southwest Atlanta Christian is ranked 495th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cherokee Bluff's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Lakeview Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Everything came up roses for Cherokee Bluff against Lakeview Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2021 as the squad secured a 74-45 victory.
