Basketball Recap: New Buffalo Sets Scoring Season-High Against Covert

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Buffalo). They claimed a resounding 102-22 win over the Covert Bulldogs. The Bison have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 26 points or more this season.

New Buffalo's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucas Forker, who went 11 for 16 on his way to 22 points and seven boards. Forker's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Keyon Tomilo, who went 7 of 8 en route to 15 points and five steals.

New Buffalo was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

New Buffalo's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-5. As for Covert, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Buffalo will welcome Phoenix at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Covert, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Michigan Lutheran at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
