Recap: First Coast Christian Knights vs. Harvest Community Warriors

After flying high against the Hope Christian Academy Lions last Friday, the First Coast Christian Knights came back down to earth. First Coast Christian ended up on the wrong side of a tough 52-31 walloping at the hands of Harvest Community on Monday. First Coast Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-10.

Harvest Community found their leader in underclassman Rebekah Harmer, who scored 14 points along with nine steals and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Elise Harmer, who scored nine points.

First Coast Christian's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.0 points per game. As for Harvest Community, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Coast Christian will take on Old Plank Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Old Plank Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Monday. Harvest Community won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Covenant School of Jacksonville at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Covenant School of Jacksonville is ranked 429th, while Harvest Community is ranked 435th).
