Clinton Prairie came tearing into Thursday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-47 win over the Taylor Titans. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Gophers have posted since February 3, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Taylor lost, don't look at Javionne Harris. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Harris continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Drey Mcclatchey, who posted ten points.

Clinton Prairie's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. As for Taylor, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-3.

Looking ahead, Clinton Prairie will be playing in front of their home fans against Rossville at 7:30 p.m. on February 14th. As for Taylor, they are taking a road trip to face off against Frankton at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Frankton will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Taylor surely won't give up without a fight.
