Baseball Recap: Weston Ranch Victorious

Weston Ranch won the last time they faced Edison and things went their way on Wednesday too. Weston Ranch came out on top against Edison by a score of 6-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Nico Orona and Jordan Paris made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Orona didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. Meanwhile, Paris pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Orona also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Weston Ranch is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise. At the plate, Orona scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Paris went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave Paris a new career-high.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was JoseLuis Suarez, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Weston Ranch's record now sits at 6-4. As for Edison, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4-1.

Weston Ranch will have a chance to go back-to-back against Edison: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
