Vail Christian had won four straight games and Sam Bates did her part to make it five on Friday. The Saints blew past the Rangely Panthers 3-0 for which the team can thank Bates, who had 15 digs and two assists. She has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more digs the last three times she's played.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Vail Christian was: they took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-14, 25-15.

Despite the loss, Rangely saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Taylor Fouch had 13 digs. Teagan Behunin also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Vail Christian's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Rangely, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Vail Christian will face off against Limon at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Rangely, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Meeker on the 30th.
