Baseball Game Preview: Eagan Wildcats vs. Apple Valley Eagles

The Eagan Wildcats will head out to square off against the Apple Valley Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eagan is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Eagan is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Farmington on Wednesday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers.

Eagan saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Lunneborg, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Apple Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Eastview on Wednesday and fell 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Lightning: they've now lost eight in a row.

Eagan's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Apple Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Eagan came up short against Apple Valley when the teams last played back in April, falling 6-1. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
