League recap: Sledge dominating on the mound for Bunn

2A Northern Carolina league recap: 4/3/13

Christian Sledge was the best pitcher in 2A Northern Carolina this week, leading Bunn. He won one game and struck out ten batters.

Warren County made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from seventh to fourth place in the league thanks to a 1-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Louisburg fell hardest in the standings, dropping from fifth all the way to seventh place after going 0-2 in the past week. the Wildcats (8-3, 5-1) are the No. 1 team in the league.

North Johnston put four runners on via walks this week, fewest in the league, but Bunn's staff still boasts the league's best control, having issued only 32 bases on balls over 70 total innings.

Four batters hit over .400 this week. The group was paced by Braxton Lamm, who collected four hits in six at bats for a .667 average.



Sledge threw a shutout as he led the Wildcats to victory over the Warriors, 10-0, on Thursday. He pitched six scoreless innings and struck out ten, while giving up two hits.
