Football Recap: Manatee Triumphs

With a playoff win on the line, Manatee rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They skirted past the North Fort Myers Red Knights 8-6.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed six in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Kayla Simon, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Manatee didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Simon.

Manatee's record is now 13-4. As for North Fort Myers, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.

Manatee wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-0 loss against East Lake on the 28th. North Fort Myers does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
