Softball Game Preview: Lewiston Blue Devils vs. Brunswick Dragons

The Lewiston Blue Devils will take on the Brunswick Dragons at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lewiston has five straight victories, Brunswick has 17 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Lewiston had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Hampden on Saturday. The Blue Devils' pitchers stepped up to hand the Broncos a 6-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Blue Devils have posted against the Broncos since May 24, 2017.

Meanwhile, Brunswick fell victim to Messalonskee and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 10-0 to the Eagles.

Brunswick's defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Lewiston, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.

Lewiston skirted past Brunswick 5-3 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
