Football Game Preview: Souderton Indians vs. North Penn Knights

Souderton is 0-6 against North Penn since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Indians will square off against the Knights at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Souderton comes in on three and North Penn on six.

Souderton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took down Ridley 23-6. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Indians' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Raiders are ranked 96th).

Hunter Smeltz was the offensive standout of the matchup as he picked up 125 receiving yards and one touchdown. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 79 yards.

Meanwhile, North Penn was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Boyertown 42-14. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-0.

Souderton's record is now 9-2. As for North Penn, their record now sits at an identical 9-2.

Souderton ended up a good deal behind North Penn when the teams last played back in August of 2021, losing 42-27. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
