Volleyball Recap: Mission Bay Buccaneers vs. Point Loma Pointers
The Mission Bay Buccaneers beat the Point Loma Pointers 3-1 on Thursday.
Mission Bay had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-22.
Audie Caban paced Mission Bay's offense, picking up 21 kills. Caban got some help from Kalea Anderson and her 16 assists. Caban was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Olivia Karvelis and Reece Thomas certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Karvelis had 22 digs and three aces, while Thomas had ten digs and three aces. Karvelis has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played.
