Baseball Recap: Victor Valley Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Victor Valley hadn't beaten Granite Hills on the road since April 19, 2023 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Jackrabbits walked away with a 4-1 win over the Cougars. The victory was familiar territory for the Jackrabbits, who have now won four matches in a row.

Victor Martinez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

On the hitting side, Victor Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rafael Cabrera, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That's the most hits Cabrera has posted since back in April of 2024. Another was Emilio Sbolci, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Victor Valley pushed their record up to 6-12 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Granite Hills, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-7.

Victor Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
