Softball Recap: Nardin Academy Comes Up Short at Home Against Sacred Heart Academy

Nardin Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Sacred Heart Academy Sharks by a score of 9-7 on Monday. Gators fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Sharks since on Monday.

Madeline Dehn led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Cecelia Donoghue, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nardin Academy is headed away from home for the first time to square off against St. Mary's at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sacred Heart Academy, they will head out to challenge Oneida at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday.
