Softball Recap: Deltona Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Deltona can now relate to. They fell just short of the Springstead Eagles by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tessa Guenette spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.5 strikeouts per game.

Deltona's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Springstead, their win bumped their record up to 15-8.

Deltona does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Springstead, they will take on Gainesville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hurricanes' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
