Volleyball Game Preview: Corner Canyon Chargers vs. Lone Peak Knights

Corner Canyon is 2-8 against Lone Peak since October of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Chargers will welcome the Knights at 6:30 p.m. Corner Canyon is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Corner Canyon is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Skyridge, who was ranked first at the time (Corner Canyon was ranked fourth). The Chargers had just enough and edged out the Falcons 3-2 on Thursday.

Corner Canyon was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 24-26, 28-26, 15-25, 25-16, 15-10.

If American Fork wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Lone Peak, they should've done a better job of containing Luhanna Panta. The Knights were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cavemen on Thursday for which the team can thank Panta, who had ten digs and four assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Lone Peak walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-22, 26-24.

Lone Peak's win bumped their record up to 16-9. As for Corner Canyon, their victory bumped their record up to 18-5.
