Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Blue Cougars vs. Messalonskee Eagles

Mt. Blue and Messalonskee are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Mt. Blue Cougars will host the Messalonskee Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 13 consecutive losses for Mt. Blue and three for Messalonskee.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 51-12, which was the final score in Mt. Blue's tilt against Skowhegan on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Messalonskee had to suffer through a 83-31 loss at the hands of Camden Hills. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Windjammers are ranked 23rd).

Mt. Blue's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Messalonskee, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
