Softball Recap: Trinity Trojans vs. Independence Blue Devils
Trinity extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-6 in the process. They lost 17-0 to the Independence Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-0 back in April.

Trinity saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Port, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base. Port has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Nia Mckinney also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
As for Independence, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-3. Considering they have won ten contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
On Independence's side, they got a massive performance out of Lila Manfredonia, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Priebe, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Trinity does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Independence, they will take on Harding at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in the Blue Devils' favor as the squad sits on 14 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Skippers have been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road.
