Baseball Game Preview: East Leopards vs. Highland Rams

For the second straight game, East will face off against Highland. The Leopards will take on the Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (East has five straight victories, Highland has 11 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Wednesday, East got the win against Highland by a conclusive 11-4. Considering the Leopards have won five games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Beckham Christensen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Christensen was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for East: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, Logan Lunt was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of East's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 0-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Treend, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Highland's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for East, their record is now 5-10.
