Preview: Triton vs. Cherry Hill West
Cherry Hill West have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Triton at 7:00 PM. The teams both have set a high bar for this contest after stand-out offensive performances in their previous contests.
Cherry Hill West made easy work of Seneca two weeks ago and carried off a 43-19 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.
Meanwhile, after having lost a blowout in their match three weeks ago against Burlington Township, Triton were happy to find some success. Triton took the matchup and then some with a 35-0 win over Cumberland. The high-flying offensive effort was a definite turnaround from Triton's flat performance the matchup before.
Their wins bumped Cherry Hill West to 3-1 and Triton to 2-2. In their victory, Cherry Hill West relied heavily on senior Carlos Gomez jr., who rushed for 213 yards and 3 touchdowns. Triton will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
