Basketball Recap: Lewisburg Baptist Academy Comes Up Short

Lewisburg Baptist Academy played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 48-24 to the Victory Baptist Academy Saints. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-9.

Victory Baptist Academy was led to victory by Grace Ward and Jada O'Neal. Ward posted 16 points, while O'Neal had 12 points and five steals. O'Neal has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaydan Mooney, who put up seven points and seven rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Lewisburg Baptist Academy and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Victory Baptist Academy, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Lewisburg Baptist Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mount Hope Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 17th. As for Victory Baptist Academy, they will take on Calvary Baptist Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Victory Baptist Academy is facing Calvary Baptist Academy at the right time seeing as Calvary Baptist Academy is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
