Flag Football Recap: Foothill Takes a Loss

Foothill managed to slip by Johnson the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mustangs had to suffer through a 32-0 loss at the hands of the Warriors. Having soared to a lofty 39 points in the game before, the Mustangs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Anissa Zavala was her usual excellent self, rushing for 78 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries, while also throwing for 178 yards and three touchdowns for Johnson. Zavala also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging three interceptions.

Foothill has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Johnson, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Foothill didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-6 loss against Florin on the 24th. As for Johnson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 31-0 defeat against Fairfield on the 24th.
