Soccer Recap: Garfield Comes Up Short

The matchup between Garfield and Newton Falls on Wednesday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The G-Men came up short against the Tigers, falling 14-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Garfield of the 1-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Garfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Newton Falls, they now have a winning record of 1-0-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garfield will challenge Crestwood at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Newton Falls, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Rootstown at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
