Softball Game Preview: Archie Williams Peregrine Falcons vs. Carondelet Cougars

The Archie Williams Peregrine Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Carondelet Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Carondelet took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Archie Williams, who comes in off a win.

Archie Williams is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past College Park 3-2.

Paige Murphy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Archie Williams saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Conrad, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Another was Kennedy Dunsing, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Carondelet and Livermore had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Cougars came up short against the Cowboys last Tuesday, falling 14-2. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Cowboys recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Carondelet's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Archie Williams, their victory bumped their record up to 19-8.
