Basketball Recap: Philip Barbour Takes a Loss

Philip Barbour and Wheeling Central Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Philip Barbour had to settle for second. They were dealt a 78-48 loss at the hands of the Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Colts have suffered since January 18th.

Kaitlyn Blake was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 37 points and ten boards for Wheeling Central Catholic. Blake's big performance that evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points. Addie Payton was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 11 assists.

With the loss, Philip Barbour broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points over those games.
