Basketball Recap: Danville Takes a Loss

Danville has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They came up short against the Shamokin Area Indians on Wednesday, falling 71-47. While losing is never fun, the Ironmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Indians are ranked 46th).

Joe Hile continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Shamokin Area, going 7-for-10 to rack up 19 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Hile is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last 13 games he's played. Case Litchy was another key player, going 5-for-7 en route to 10 points and five boards.

Danville's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Shamokin Area, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Danville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shamokin Area, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-51 win against Warrior Run on the 14th.
