Volleyball Recap: Southwestern Heights Mustangs vs. Stanton County Trojans
Southwestern Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Stanton County Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Saturday.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Southwestern Heights sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 15-25, 25-18.
Lacie Banman paced Southwestern Heights' offense, picking up 11 kills. Banman got some help from Mariah Mendoza and her 26 assists. Lindanis Puentes controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Southwestern Heights now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Stanton County, they pushed their record up to 5-0-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
