Volleyball Recap: Marlin Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against La Vega, Marlin was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Itasca Wampus Cats by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 16-25, 25-19, 25-21.

Marlin found their leader in sophomore Gelena Diaz, who had ten digs and two aces. Aaria Johnson was another key player, getting 12 assists and ten digs.

Marlin is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. As for Itasca, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.

Looking ahead, Marlin will challenge Connally at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. After both having extra time off, Itasca and Meridian will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Wampus Cats their first taste of in-conference action this season.
