Volleyball Recap: University Comes Up Short

University was the 3-1 winner over Oak Ridge when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, University sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 23-25, 15-10.

Emma Reyes paced University's offense, picking up two kills. Reyes got some help from Dariana Roman Molina and her five assists. Jaylisse Basez Villa controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

University's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Oak Ridge, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, University will square off against Apopka at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, Oak Ridge and Colonial will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
