Baseball Game Preview: Leeds Greenwave vs. Vincent Yellow Jackets

The Leeds Greenwave are taking a road trip to face off against the Vincent Yellow Jackets at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Leeds 3.8, Vincent 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Leeds' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Carver Birmingham as they made off with a 7-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Greenwave, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Ty Bedell and Jacob Calvin made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Bedell tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Calvin pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). At the plate, Bedell went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double, while Calvin went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Calvin hit this season.

As for Leeds, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-8.

Leeds skirted past Vincent 4-3 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Greenwave since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
