Baseball Recap: Nezperce Nighthawks vs. Prairie Pirates
Nezperce had lost 11 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-10 to make it 12. They came up short against the Prairie Pirates, falling 18-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 31-4 on Tuesday.
Nezperce saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brennen McLeod, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.
As for Prairie, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nezperce will venture away from home to face off against Troy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Prairie, they will head out to challenge Genesee at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
