Basketball Game Preview: Preuss UCSD Tritons vs. Monarch Royals

The Preuss UCSD Tritons and the Monarch Royals will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday without much rest having both just played. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Wednesday, Preuss UCSD came up short against Morse and fell 65-54. The Tritons haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Meanwhile, Monarch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Logan Memorial Education Campus.

Preuss UCSD's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7. As for Monarch, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Preuss UCSD didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Monarch in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 49-44 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Monarch's Chris Prado, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards.
