Baseball Game Preview: Spring Hill Raiders vs. Eagleville Eagles

The Spring Hill Raiders will head out on the road to challenge the Eagleville Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Spring Hill came up short against Franklin Road Academy and fell 8-4.

Meanwhile, Eagleville entered their tilt with Huntland on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Hornets. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Maddox Bouldin was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Marshall Spann, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had over his last nine contests. Another player making a difference was Brady Burns, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Eagleville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .324 or higher in three consecutive games.

Spring Hill has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Eagleville, their record now sits at 19-4.

Spring Hill might still be hurting after the 13-3 loss they got from Eagleville when the teams last played back in March. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
