South Salem put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the McNary Celtics get on the board and left with a 19-0 win. The Saxons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.
South Salem got a great performance from Harrison Buckingham as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Buckingham a new career-high.
At the plate, South Salem let Sawyer Nelson and Teagan Scott run wild. Nelson went 2-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI, while Scott scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave Nelson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Feik, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
South Salem always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McNary only posted an OBP of .263.
