York is 0-4 against Fremd since April of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Dukes will be playing at home against the Vikings at 4:45 p.m. York is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

York proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 17) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over Pikeville.

Taylor McMillen looked comfortable as she tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lillianah (Lilly) Burda was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Gia Valentin, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Fremd took care of business in their home opener (and then some) back in March. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Libertyville an 8-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won six in a row.

York pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Fremd, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
