Antioch had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the North Chicago Warhawks. The victory continues a trend for the Sequoits in their matchups with the Warhawks: they've now won six in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Antioch who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-19, 21-25, 25-15.

Justin Niznik paced Antioch's offense, picking up eight kills. Niznik got some help from Ryan Jilly and his 19 assists. Jilly also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Angel Anguiano, racking up two apiece.

Antioch didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Deerfield on the 3rd. North Chicago has also already played their next game (against Grant Community), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
