Baseball Game Preview: Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs vs. Prairie Central Hawks

The Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs will square off against the Prairie Central Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Deer Creek-Mackinaw will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Saturday, Deer Creek-Mackinaw beat Fieldcrest 6-2.

Keagan Brown tossed a big game, tossing 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, Parker Eggenberger was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Hunter Fogle was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Prairie Central lost 16-1 to Reed-Custer on Friday. The Hawks have struggled against the Comets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Prairie Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Steidinger, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

The win got Deer Creek-Mackinaw back to even at 15-15. As for Prairie Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-23.
