Softball Recap: Wilmot Comes Up Short

After flying high against Racine Case on Friday, Wilmot came back down to earth. The Panthers fell just short of the Elkhorn Elks by a score of 8-7 on Monday. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Elks from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Sarah Josko stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Ashlyn Horn was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one double.

Wilmot has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Elkhorn, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-13.

Wilmot has already played their next matchup, a 15-0 defeat against Waterford on the 12th. Hopefully Elkhorn paid attention to the Panthers' contest: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
