Baseball Recap: Ottumwa Takes a Loss

Ottumwa managed to slip by Ames the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bulldogs lost 10-3 to the Little Cyclones on Wednesday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Little Cyclones apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Ottumwa's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-10. As for Ames, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-11 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Ottumwa beat Ames by a score of 14-8 later that day.
