Trimble County is on a six-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Gallatin County a ten-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Trimble County Raiders will be playing at home against the Gallatin County Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Having struggled with eight losses in a row, Trimble County turned things around against Shawe Memorial on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Hilltoppers. The contest marked the Raiders' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Dylan Penick and Noah Chilton made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Penick struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Chilton struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At bat, Penick went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Chilton went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Penick has become a key player for Trimble County: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-10 otherwise.
In other batting news, Liam Taylor was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Trevor Lile, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Trimble County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shawe Memorial only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, Gallatin County scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 17-10 to Calvary Christian.
Gallatin County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Trimble County, their win bumped their record up to 3-11.
Trimble County couldn't quite get it done against Gallatin County in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 9-4. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
