Baseball Preview: Trimble County Raiders vs. Gallatin County Wildcats

Trimble County is on a six-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Gallatin County a ten-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Trimble County Raiders will be playing at home against the Gallatin County Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with eight losses in a row, Trimble County turned things around against Shawe Memorial on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Hilltoppers. The contest marked the Raiders' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Dylan Penick and Noah Chilton made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Penick struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Chilton struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At bat, Penick went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Chilton went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Gallatin County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Trimble County, their win bumped their record up to 3-11.
