Basketball Recap: Allen East Snags Fifth Win in Last Six Games

If Lincolnview wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Allen East, they should've done a better job of containing Rilynn Jones. The Allen East Mustangs walked away with a 49-39 win over the Lincolnview Lancers on Thursday thanks in part to Jones, who went 8 for 14 on her way to 28 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Allen East's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Rylie Jordan, who posted four points and seven boards. Those seven rebounds gave her a new career-high.

Several Lancers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keira Breese, who had 16 points and seven boards. Breese's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Price, who put up nine points and five rebounds.

Allen East has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Lincolnview, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.

Allen East is taking a road trip to face off against Spencerville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lincolnview, they will be playing at home against Fort Jennings at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
