Basketball Recap: Durand Bulldogs vs. Forreston Cardinals
After flying high against Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy last Saturday, Durand came back down to earth. The Durand Bulldogs took a 31-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Forreston Cardinals. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Jaydan Bartlett and Caitlind Maines certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Bartlett almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds, while Maines earned six points along with two steals.
Hailee Vogt was the offensive standout of the match as she posted seven points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Hundertmark, who earned five points.
Durand dropped their record down to 3-3 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Forreston, they moved to 1-5 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.
