Flag Football Recap: Avaya Warner and Casey Mccoy Pace Laguna Creek Defense

Laguna Creek lost against Elk Grove back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cardinals took a 12-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thundering Herd. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 505th, while the Thundering Herd are ranked 145th).

Laguna Creek didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Avaya Warner and Casey McCoy. Laguna Creek got some further help from Ava Urbano: she picked up a sack and made six total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Laguna Creek's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Elk Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Laguna Creek has already played their next contest, a 35-14 defeat against Monterey Trail on the 14th. As for Elk Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 27-14 win against Sheldon on the 14th.
