Volleyball Recap: Atlas Prep Comes Up Short

Atlas Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Dallas Academy Bulldogs, falling 3-0.

While Atlas Prep was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Dallas Academy's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-21, 27-25.

Sylvia Dunbar had an outrageously good game for Dallas Academy as she had nine aces and five assists. That's the most assists Dunbar has posted since back in September of 2024.

Atlas Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Dallas Academy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Atlas Prep is set to square off against their familiar foe Uplift Elevate Prep at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Dallas Academy will take on rival Excel Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Bulldogs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
