Soccer Game Preview: Montgomery vs. A&M Consolidated

Montgomery hasn't had much luck against A&M Consolidated recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Montgomery Bears will venture away from home to challenge the A&M Consolidated Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

If Montgomery beats A&M Consolidated with four goals on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Everything went Montgomery's way against Huntsville on Tuesday as Montgomery made off with a 4-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.

They hit Huntsville with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Brylei Henry, Aleah Whitehead, Valentina Barnett, and Camryn Savoy.

Meanwhile, A&M Consolidated put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their undefeated season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand Brenham a 7-0 shutout. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Cubs are ranked 314th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Montgomery's win bumped their record up to 9-3-1. As for A&M Consolidated, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-0-1.

Montgomery suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to A&M Consolidated in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Montgomery avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
